About the event

Jeanette Lynes is a Canadian author, poet and professor. She is now Coordinator of the M.F.A. in Writing at the University of Saskatchewan and a professor in the Department of English at the University of Saskatchewan. Jeanette Lynes is the author of seven collections of poetry and two novels. Her first, The Factory Voice (2009), was longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her second, The Small Things That End the World (2018), won the Saskatchewan Book Award for fiction. The Apothecary's Garden is her most recent publication (Harper-Collins, 2022).

Tracy Hamon is the Executive Director for the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild where she oversees an organization dedicated to providing programs for writers. Tracy is also VP on the National Council of the League of Canadian Poets and Chair of the Writers' Trust Advisory Committee. Her first book of poetry, This Is Not Eden, was released in April 2005 and was a finalist for two Saskatchewan Book Awards. Portions of her collection, Interruptions in Glass, won the 2005 City of Regina Writing Award, and was also shortlisted for two Saskatchewan Book Awards in 2010. Her book of poetry, Red Curls, was published by Thistledown Press in the fall of 2014.
